Robert C. Dowdy, 28 of Spencer, was arrested in Mitchell by Indiana State Police troopers Russell Garrison and Mark Raper.

Dowdy was reportedly wanted on warrants in Monroe, Owen, Morgan and Brown counties on numerous charges, including being a habitual offender.

The 16-year-old girl, also arrested in Mitchell, was charged with resisting law enforcement and was taken to a detention center in Jackson County, Raper said.

Also arrested on felony charges of assisting a criminal were Jacob M. Leathers, 23, of Ellettsville; James M. Miller, 33, of Spencer; Kevin S. Johnson, 31, of Mitchell; and Holly Poff, 20, of Mitchell, the news release said. They were taken to the Lawrence County Jail, Raper said.

Dowdy is being held in Monroe County jail without bond.
