SPENCER

An Indianapolis man died at Bloomington Hospital Saturday after his motorcycle crashed in Owen County.

David Luttrell, 58, died of blunt force trauma, said Monroe County Coroner Dave Toumey. Luttrell was transported to Monroe County by Owen County Emergency Medical Service and intercepted by Bloomington Hospital Ambulance Service, which took him to the hospital.

According to Indiana State Police Trooper Paul Suding, Luttrell was headed west on Ind. 246 about 13 miles west of Spencer about 12:30 p.m. when he lost control of the bike.

The 2001 Kawasaki motorcycle reportedly went left of center, turned over and collided with a 1990 Chevrolet driven eastbound by Tony G. Grassick, 40, of Coal City, Suding said.

Grassick was not injured.

Luttrell was wearing a helmet at the time of the wreck, Suding said.
