POLAND -- A report of shots being fired called in to the Owen County
Sheriff's Department Wednesday night resulted in the arrest of at least three
Putnam County citizens.
At approximately 8:10 p.m. Poland resident Sharon J. Garrett, 44, called in
claiming that a man was shooting at her nephew at a bar across the street from
her residence called The Pub.
Originally 17 people were detained. Of those arrested, at least three were
minors. There were no less than 13 emergency vehicles present at the scene.
Police also set up a barricade.
The three from Putnam County to be arrested were Jeremy W. Bellmore, 20,
Cloverdale, James H. Alley, 29, Cloverdale, and Christopher Garske, 18,
Cloverdale.
Bellmore was arrested on charges of criminal recklessness, Alley for criminal
recklessness with a deadly weapon, and Garske for possession of marijuana.
Garrett herself was also arrested for giving false information to the police and
also Sylvester Garrett, 54, Poland, for disorderly conduct.
John T. Duncan, 28, Quincy, was also arrested for DUI, pointing a firearm, and
criminal recklessness.
