SPENCER — Jack and Betty Hauser of rural Patricksburg were named the Owen County Farm Family of the Year during the county's annual Ag Day breakfast at the 4-H fairgrounds last weekend.

The family's farming operations involve a herd of more than 90 beef cows and feeders, as well as planting close to 1,000 acres with corn, soybeans, wheat and hay.

The Hausers also have implemented several conservation practices on their property, including a water and sediment control basin, grassed waterways and a filter strip.

Jack and Betty have four children: Jacob, Amy, Eben and Billy.
