Whitehall project to be postponed
SPENCER The second phase of the Whitehall Hill improvement project will be postponed until after the end of the school year for the Spencer-Owen School District.
The project which includes lowering the hillcrest, reducing the incline of the steep grade and realigning the roadway to eliminate a curve was scheduled to begin in April.
But, several school bus drivers and parents complained the detour for the project would be unsafe for students.
The Indiana Department of Transportation announced Tuesday the work would be delayed until June.
The project will be completed in September
