SPENCER — The Owen County Commissioners are contemplating charging anyone who is arrested locally and booked into the county jail an extra $25 fee.
The fee would be used for inmates' medical expenses, said Sheriff Harley Melton, who said he hopes it would save the county money.
The commissioners will vote on the proposed ordinance on Jan. 28.
